Waynetown - Walter J. Davis, 69, prominent farmer and school bus driver, died at his home, four and a half miles northeast of Waynetown, at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday. Death was due to a stroke and followed a serious illness of six weeks. Mr. Davis was born June 10, 1885 near New Market, the son of Isaac N. and Ida Westfall Davis. He was married Dec 21, 1913, to Nina Switzer at the home of Rev. Hanson in Waynetown. Mr. Davis was an active member of the Waynetown Baptist Church for many years. The survivors include his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Julia Wilson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Myrtle Connor of Hillsboro; a brother, Lawrence Davis of Crawfordsville and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, Manning Davis, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Waynetown Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Harvey S. Burns in charge. The body will lie in state for one hour at the church. Friends may call at the Grenard & Services Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - typed by kbz - thanks Proctors :
